Water Quality Parameters
Volunteers will collect data on the four basic water quality field parameters: Dissolved Oxygen, pH, Conductivity, and Temperature. However, this course will give the volunteer a working knowledge of the physical and chemical properties that can affect the water quality of lakes, rivers, and streams. Many of the additional parameters discussed in this course would require different sampling protocol than for the four field parameters, but volunteers should have an understanding of all of these parameters and how they can affect eachother.
